Welcome to

INSHES EAST
CHURCH

Discovering Jesus, together.

We are a varied group of people who want to share the good news of Jesus with as many as we can and at the same time seek to serve others in His name in practical ways too.

We have a particular commitment to the people and the area of the city around our church building, but we also want to be of blessing to the wider community of Inverness and, wherever possible, beyond that too.

You are very welcome to join us

When we gather on a Sunday the Bible is central, believing that as His Word is explained and applied, God makes himself and his ways known by his Spirit. We enjoy praising God through a mixture of older and newer hymns and songs. We love welcoming new people among us, whether those who have faith or those seeking or sceptical. We would love to meet you.

In person

We meet regularly on Sundays at 10:30am & 6:30pm and also midweek.

Livestream

You can watch the morning gathering live at 10.30am on the Website, YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Sermons

We have audio recordings of all our previous sermons which are available to download here.

What we believe

At the heart of the Christian faith lies the person of Jesus. There is no more important question to ask or address than: Who is Jesus?

Jesus brings new life

Most people can see this world is not as it could and should be. Something is wrong. Something is missing.

The Bible agrees and tells the story of how God has come into our broken world into human history in the person of his Son, Jesus to make things right to bring the new life, the true life we are looking for – life as it was originally intended to be – life at one with our Maker and with one another. As one of us, Jesus lived the life we should have lived, died the death we deserved, and rose again from the dead so that he could bring new life and restore the whole creation. We begin to taste that new life when we turn and trust our lives to Him, finding forgiveness for all that is wrong in our lives, new desires and abilities by his Spirit to live a life that is pleasing to Go and a sure hope of being part of that restored created order at the end of time.

Life is for sharing

Jesus came to share our life. He said he had come ‘not to be served but to serve and to give his life as ransom for many’ (Mark 10:45)

He came not simply to call individuals to follow him but to bind his followers together in communities of faith. The new life he gives is a life to be shared.  Community is important. Church, as Jesus intended, is not a place but a people of all ages and stages of life, sharing Him and all he gives together. Therefore, by God’s grace and the help of his Spirit, we seek to love and serve one another, care for and support one another. We also want to serve those around us, Christian or non-Christian, in whatever practical way we can.  We have a particular commitment to the people and the area around our church building, but we also want to be of blessing to the wider community of Inverness and, wherever possible, beyond that too.
