About Inshes East

The Church building at Inshes opened in April 2003 when the congregation of the West Church of Scotland relocated here after some 163 years worshipping in the building on Huntly Street (now flats) and became Inshes Church of Scotland.

In March 2023, Inshes Church of Scotland and the East Church of Scotland, who had previously worshipped in the building on the corner of Academy Street since 1798 (now a Gaelic Cultural Centre: Cultarlann Inbhir Nis) were united.

The two congregations, with a similar heritage and ethos of teaching the Bible, praying together, and living out and bearing witness to the good news of Jesus, combined to form Inshes East Church of Scotland and the union has proved a happy and fruitful one.
